Born in Italy, the Baroque developed between the Renaissance and neo-classicism in the Catholic countries of Europe and Latin America. 2 - By extension, the adjective Baroque means convoluted, exaggeratedly decorative, bizarre, like the irregular pearl at the origin of the word.
