Bestiary : 1 - In the Middle Ages, collection of images or illustrated treaty inventorying real or imaginary animals. Each symbolizing a biblical character, the animals of the bestiary also adorn the religious architecture: paintings, reliefs and sculptures. 2 - Collection of fables with animals. 3 - Animal iconography of a work.

A descriptive or anecdotal treatise on various real or mythical kinds of animals, especially a medieval work with a moralizing tone.

Currently animation artist are creating their own brilliant bestiary library's.  Imaginative, Dark, Whimsical beast are being invented.  With ever increasing knowledge and skill of drawing and modeling.
